University Facilities
Manchester University boasts state-of-the-art shared surgical, behavioural, and imaging facilities. Manchester is also a hub for vascular research- with the recent multimillion pound investments from the BHF centre for excellence, and Alzheimer’s Society doctoral school funding 29 PhD students to research vascular health and dementia over the next few years. Manchester University is also home to the Brain Inflammation Group and Microvascular@Manchester, which facilitates collaborations and access to expertise in cerebrovascular disease, inflammation, and dementia.
Translational Potential
Manchester University is home to the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre and Lydia Becker Institute which utilise multidisciplinary approaches to partner basic scientists and clinicians, ensuring a translational pathway of research into healthcare benefit.
